Now that she's 23, Taylor Swift is ready to show the world her edgy side!

The singer released the new video on MTV for "I Knew You Were Trouble" on Thursday, Dec. 13, the same day as her birthday.

Sporting tattered clothing, short hair with pink tips, Swift wakes up in a deserted field with debris lying around in the beginning of her edgy new video.

"I think when it's all over, it just comes back in flashes, you know? It's like a kaleidoscope of memories . . . it just all comes back. But he never does," the singer says in the two-minute intro to the song. "I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen . . . I knew his world moved too fast, and burned too bright . . . I guess I just lost my balance. I think that the worst part of it all, wasn't losing him. It was losing me."

In the music video, Swift makes out with her tattooed boyfriend (a lot!) played by actor Reeve Carney, dances on top of a bed and tries to break up her bad boy's bar fight. Despite all her efforts, her boyfriend (who's often shirtless) cheats on her at a party and Swift's world comes crashing down.
