It's two days after Christmas, but Shakira** just got the greatest gift of all: a baby!

The singer's boyfriend, FC Barcelona soccer star Gerard Pique, announced the happy news in a tweet to his 4.7 million followers on Thursday, Dec. 27. The message -- written in Spanish -- read, "Our son has been born! We are very happy! Thanks to all for your messages."

The couple, who met on the set of Shakira's video for the South Africa World Cup theme song, "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)," first revealed that they were expecting back in September, via Facebook.

"Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby," the mom-to-be, 35, wrote. "At this time, we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days."

In the months after the announcement, the "Tortura" singer embraced her pregnancy happily, sharing photos of her growing baby bump. "I could have another nine months like this," she wrote alongside one pic of herself with Pique.

"Shakira is really looking forward to being a mother," a source close to the new Voice mentor recently told Us Weekly. "They definitely want more than one together."
