Is Scarlett Johannson** preparing to become Madame Dauriac? Non! On Monday (Feb. 18), the actress -- currently starring in a Broadway revival of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof -- was snapped braving the chilly climes in Manhattan's East Village with Romain Dauriac, her French beau of about four months. Holding hands with the handsome journalist, 30, the 28-year-old beauty was dressed down for her day off in a puffy black coat, simple black pants and boots.

Setting off the slightly dowdy, cold-weather outfit: A huge new diamond ring worn on her engagement finger. But the rock is not what it seems, a rep for The Avengers actress tells Us Weekly. "She is absolutely not engaged," the rep says.

It would have been the second marriage for Johansson, who divorced Ryan Reynolds** in late 2010 after two years together. (Reynolds wed Blake Lively** last fall**.)

"I never think about marriage," the Hitchcock actress, 28, told Elle UK of tying the knot again. "Is that weird? The only time I ever think about it is when people ask me, 'Would I get married again?' It's really not important to me. It has no relevance to me right now."

Nevertheless, Johansson has stayed in the dating game after her high-profile divorce: Dating Sean Penn **(24 years her senior) for five months in 2011 and NYC ad exec Nate Naylor for about a year. She and Dauriac went public with their romance last December.
