MTV's Catfish: The TV Show has captivated millions of viewers -- including Bridesmaids' breakout star Rebel Wilson**. The reality series, which follows young people as they meet their online lovers for the first time, was inspired by the 2010 documentary starring Nev Schulman.

In a series of Twitter posts Jan. 17, Wilson, 26, admitted to watching "like six episodes" of the "addictive" program. "That Catfish show is so funny and yet so sad at the same time. Kinda fascinating," the Pitch Perfect star wrote. "Just watched the original [documentary] and it's awesome!"

"I would never online date unless it was for 'comedy research,'" the Aussie added. "The other things I've done for 'comedy research' include fat camp and drinking."

The single star has gleaned a few important lessons from the show. "Catfish teaches you to Google image search. Always!" she tweeted. Calling the series a "very fascinating character study," Wilson admitted she "can't believe these people do this."

Catfish: The TV Show airs Mondays at 11 p.m. EST on MTV.

I met a guy in person, and he lied from day one, he pretended he was his brother, he had lost his job, trying to sue ...(greed), he was very selfish and mean, of course nothing became of us, and he had the Nerve to tell me, we can only be friends, I said ok, I need to go ...He said: What?! You're Not going to Cry! ...I said, Not Only am I'm not going to cry, I'm going to hold you to your word! I said, you can't be, broke, short, fat, mean, selfish and ugly! You have too Much going On! I Love ALL shapes, sizes, color, and heights, + attractive or Unattractive! But Not All Negatives in (One Person)! HA! I know she was Glad to have a Friend, to Help her through that ...How Horrible!

@bbthumper...my friends guy sent her pics of him and he looked like a male model. Now keep in mind, this was back in 1998-99 and before Skype etc so it was all done via aol chat rooms. He said he was a twin, and he didn't send her. Lot of pics, but the few he sent her were really handsome. When she finally talked him into coming to the West Coast to come live with her, she was madly in love with him. They spoke every night on the phone and emailed all day long plus chatted in the chat room. When he came out of the gate, he was this fat, sweaty unattractive guy. He was wearing a wife beater t-shirt and he was obviously embarrassed. But we had joked about this happening and she said she'd love him anyway, since it was his personally she fell for and not his looks. But there was a look of disappointment on her face. He turned out to be a scumbag. He started beating her and we had to move her to my parents house (we were room mates at the time) and we pretended we were sending him back to Boston to see his kids for Christmas. But once he left, we moved into my parents an hour drive away and stopped all contact with him. She went home to England a month later, where she was originally from. So I've seen the REAL bad side to online dating, but also I've GOT the REAL good side, which is my wonderful husband!

Lol @Newbie, was it a look of horror, or of, you got to be kidding me ... am I being punked?! Ha!

Nothing wrong meeting online if its honest. Let's be real, just because you meet someone in person doesn't mean they aren't hiding other secrets. Dating is always a gamble.

Never saw the show, but it looks really interesting. Have to check it out sometime. And @newbie, glad to hear its worked out for you. I have a friend who dated a few guys from Online, and none of them worked out. Not my cup of tea... lol

I love the show too. The thing Nev always askes these ppl is 'have you ever video chatted?'. Obviously makes sense if you take an online relationship to the next level. It's a great show and a learning experience for many.
