Is this high waist in bad taste?

Kate Middleton's usually-stylish, scene-stealing younger sister Pippa Middleton turned heads for a very different reason at a party for British jewelry brand W&W Monday night.

For her evening out, the 29-year-old party planner opted for a super high-waisted bronze metallic skirt, which she paired with a cream blouse, an oversized statement necklace, black opaque tights and -- gasp! -- tan shoes.

While certainly cocktail party-appropriate, some say the ensemble didn't do Middleton's famous figure any favors -- and that the outfit just had too much going on.

I wore a similar skirt/blouse back in the 80's. to a Christmas party. The 80's were a totally different time though. This does her no favours at all. As for people 'hating' her...that's a little harsh! No? Hate is such a strong word! But anyway, not one of her best outfits. I've seen her look a lot prettier than she looks in this picture.

I hate her. Go away already because you can only ride your sisters coat tails for so long. She is not even that good looking - why do people gush over her. She has done nothing and will continue to do so because her sister is royalty.

I don't mind the outfit, it's the shoes and hose that are ick! She's a pretty girl, not a supermodel but pretty.
