Oscar Awards: The Best and Weirdest Moments From the Show
February 25, 2013

The 2013 Oscars brought some memorable moments both on and off the stage. On stage, Seth MacFarlane kicked of the 85th annual Academy Awards show Sunday, Feb. 24 with a joke about Rihanna and Chris Brown**'s turbulent romance. On the red carpet, Anne Hathaway**'s sideboob-baring Prada gown quickly inspired the Twitter account HathawayNipple.

Of course, the award ceremony was also filled with unforgettable speeches by Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz, Best Supporting Actress Hathaway, Best Actress Jennifer Lawrence, Best Actor Daniel Day-Lewis and Best Picture winner Ben Affleck** for Argo.

Relive the biggest, buzziest moments from the 2013 Oscars below.

1. Anne Hathaway's Red Carpet Dress Inspires "Nipple" Twitter

Anne Hathaway thankfully didn't have a wardrobe malfunction on the red carpet outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the Oscars. But the 30-year-old frontrunner for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award nevertheless caused immediate comment online for her sidebood-baring Prada gown. "It was the one that spoke to me," she said.

2. Seth MacFarlane Jokes About Rihanna, Chris Brown "Violence" in Opening Monologue

Yep, Seth MacFarlane went there. The first-time host, 39, was eager to push the envelope with his opening monologue. Recapping the year's honored films, the Family Guy creator discussed Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, and managed to invoke the music world's most controversial couple.

3. Jennifer Lawrence Falls on Steps as She Wins Best Actress Oscar

And just like that, Jennifer Lawrence is immortalized -- goofily! -- in Oscar history. The 22-year-old star won the Best Actress Academy Award and suffered every actress' nightmare while ascending the stage: She face-planted! Tripping on her sizable frock, the blonde fell down on the steps, and was quickly helped up.

4. Ben Affleck Wins Best Picture Oscar for Argo, Thanks Wife Jennifer Garner: Marriage Is "Work, But It's the Best Work There Is"

Ben Affleck walked away from the 2013 Oscars with one heck of a consolation prize for his Best Director snub. The Argo filmmaker and his team captured the night's top award, beating out eight other nominees, including Lincoln and Silver Linings Playbook, for Best Picture.

5.

Sunday night's Oscar Awards turned out to be one long evening of tributes to music in film, and no such night would have been complete without a nod to Tom Hooper's film adaptation of Broadway epic Les Miserables. The star-studded cast of the film descended upon the Oscars stage, to give a rousing ensemble performance of "One Day More."

6.

Dancing with the stars, Oscars-style! Seth MacFarlane kicked off the 2013 Academy Awards with a little fancy footwork and some help from two of Hollywood's hottest celebs -- Channing Tatum** and Charlize Theron.

7.

Kristen Stewart walked the red carpet in a floor-length gown, glittery jewels, and one very odd accessory. The Twilight actress, 22, was spotted hobbling out of her car with a set of crutches for an unspecified injury before dropping them to pose for cameras.

I loved Seth as the host. Much better than previous hosts. He was fresh, smart, humorous and witty. But there were no surprises or upsets.

Latest annoying phrase from US is side b o ob. Add it to baby bump, flaunted, stunned, and the many others.

Not all if us are fans of the Oscars. The last few years they have become boring.

It was pretty boring. But all the right people won...Ben Affleck had an odd speech too.

The freshest moment last night -- gotta say it, folks! -- was Seth's irreverent and straightfaced delivery of I Saw Your Boobs as a production number, and the female stars' agape reactions as their names were included. The show as a whole had the most bounce it's had in recent years, with the only misfortune being the choice of Argo as Best Picture. It's a corking good, but not a great, one in a year of several greater.

This was the worst oscars I remember. Kstew get a new career you're looks of boredom are an embarrassment. If you want to really act and not he famous do indie films. Why is everyone so in love with jennifer Lawrence?? Hardly any talent there.
