Morgan Freeman Denies Making Statement About School Shooting
December 17, 2012

Morgan Freeman is the latest celebrity to be falsely quoted in a widely-circulated, controversial faux-interview -- this one regarding the tragic Friday Dec. 15 shootings in Newtown, CT that left 20 children and eight adults dead.

The Oscar-winning actor, 75, denied ever issuing a statement criticizing the media for sensationalizing the tragedy and others like it, his publicist told TheWrap.com Sunday Dec. 16.

"It's because of the way the media reports it," the false statement read, in which the actor allegedly criticizes coverage of past school shootings. "Turn on the news and see how we treat the Batman theater shooter and the Oregon mall shooter like celebrities. Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris are household names, but do you know the name of a single 'victim' of Columbine?"

According to TheWrap, Freeman's team is attempting to discern how the false quotes -- which became viral on Facebook and elsewhere online -- hit the web in the first place.

"Disturbed people who would otherwise just off themselves in their basement see the news and want to top it by doing something worse and going out in a memorable way," the phony quotes continued of late Newtwon gunman Adam Lanza. "Why a grade school? Why children? Because he'll be remembered as a horrible monster instead of a sad nobody."

Whomever did write that is spot on. All the way from Bundy to Casey Anthony to this douc*ebag, the press, inevitable book and movie deals, when the victims are the ones we need to focus on. And if anyone does try to profit off of this horrible tragedy, may God have mercy on their miserable souls.

WHEN DID SHOOTING PPL IN THE FACE AND KILLING KIDS BECOME ANYTHING OTHER THAN EVIL? SOMEBODY CALLED THIS KILLER A LOST BOY. HE WAS A GROWN MAN ACTING OUT HIS ULTIMATE FANTASY. HE WAS SOCIALLY AWKWARD AND EVIL. ALL OF THESE GUYS R PLAYING A GAME. THE DAY THEY COMMIT THEIR CRIMES IS THE BEST DAY OF THEIR LIVES.

Well the article listed an erroneous date for the tragedy but at least this publication was objective in reporting the number of deaths associated with the event. I didn't like it that Obama referred to 26 victims when the mother died as well, most horrendously I might add.

US, you REALLY need to hire a proof reader that can read! Call me, I always catch your mistakes. It was Friday, December 14th, not the 15th. You even have Sunday, the 16th, so I cannot comprehend how you missed that Seriously, get someone that can read.
