Blossom is going it alone.

After nine years and two children together, Mayim Bialik and husband Michael Stone are divorcing, the actress announced in a blog post on parenting site Kveller on Wednesday, Nov. 21.

"After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce due to 'Irreconcilable Differences,'" the Blossom and Big Bang Theory star, 36, writes. "Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly."

She and Stone married in August 2003 and are parents to sons Miles, 7, and Frederick, 4. Bialik, who also holds a PhD in Neuroscience, is a spokesperson for the Holistic Moms Network, and has written and spoken extensively about "attachment parenting."

"The hands-on style of parenting we practice played no role in the changes that led to this decision; relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose," Bialik cautions in her statement.

"The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that's what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain."

She assures her readers: "We will be ok."
