Matt Dallas has met his match!

The former star of ABC Family's Kyle XY announced his engagement to musician Blue Hamilton via Twitter Jan. 6. "Starting off the year with a new fiance," the actor, 30, wrote. "A great way to kick off 2013!"

This is the first time Dallas has mentioned his homosexuality publicly.

Hamilton is a California-based singer-songwriter. The two have been quietly dating since 2009.

Dallas recently starred in the Hallmark Channel holiday movie Naughty or Nice. His other notable film and TV credits include Beauty & the Briefcase, Eastwick and You, Me & The Circus.

The Arizona-born actor has also appeared in music videos for Katy Perry** and James Blunt**.

Celebrities should be honest about who they are I am glad he did there are celebrities who say yea I support gay rights then when asked if they are dating the person of the same *** they dodge the question act like embarrassed omg that not being honest that's having a back slap on your fans who support you celebrities shouldn't fear if they support a big cause

c c a sent me a private message as well and i basically said its your spelling that bothers me at your age. It is just sad you can't spell simple words and complete sentences that are coherent. Hooked on phonics may help.

Hahahaha!!! I just received a private message from C c a that said 'so your a she he'. Now where in my post, where I CLEARLY stated that I was a HETROSEXUAL WOMAN did I give off the impression that I was a 'she he' or 'he she' or ANY other variant of mixed orientation?? I'm thinking that C c a doesn't realize what HETROSEXUAL means, and may not even be aware that they themselves is a homosapien! I can put up with a LOT, but ignorance grinds on my fecking nerves! C c a, get a fecking clue and don't send me idiotic private messages, or else they will be shared publicly! If you're somehow thinking I'm a 'she he, he she' due to never reading the bible, then you're even more fecking ignorant than I have you credit for. Now bugger off and get out my face. Thank you!
