Looks like Kate Middleton is getting her Christmas wish: She and husband Prince William are expecting their first child!

Having long expressed her desire to start a family, the Duchess of Cambridge is finally pregnant, St. James's Palace confirmed to Us Weekly Monday.

"Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby," the statement read. "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news."

Prince William's pregnant wife has been admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in Central London with Hyperemesis Gravidarum, an acute form of morning sickness, and is expected to remain there for several days.

She and Prince William married in April 2011.

I am so happy for the Royal Couple. They are good expels that you g people should follow. Their baby will be very fortunate to have them as parents.

Hope it's a girl!!! Since succession laws have been changed for the first time, if Kate has a baby girl she can be next in line for the throne following her daddy. Move over boys, now girls are equally important (not that they were ever less; just not equal when it comes to the rules of the monarchy, until recently) and don't have to wait for an unfortunate circumstance or marriage to become the future Queen of England!!! Regardless of the baby's gender, I just hope they have a healthy baby (just thought it might be cool to have the first girl since the change in law). CONGRATS!
