No doubt, fashion's biggest, fanciest event in Hollywood happens tonight, Feb. 24, at the Oscars. But last night, starlets wowed in dresses that, while less formal, were fun and flirtatious at the Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica. Here were the six best-dressed celebs at the event:

Kerry Washington**: The Django Unchained actress was a breath of fresh air in a floral Giambattista Valli Couture dress with coordinating Christian Louboutin shoes.

Camila Alves**: The beautiful mother of Matthew McConaughey's children looked like a goddess in a deep pink, short-sleeve Escada dress with sexy keyhole cutout and high slit.

Jennifer Lawrence: The Silver Linings Playbook actress, who took home a Best Actress trophy at the awards show, opted for a super-sexy black skirt and barely-there top, accessorized with a statement choker necklace, all by Lanvin.

Zoe Saldana: Not many people can pull off big, bold, green stripes, but the Nina actress, rocking a Dolce Gabbana dress and Casadei heels, somehow manages to look amazing in them.

Salma Hayek: The gorgeous actress opted for an elegant white Alexander McQueen dress cinched with a black belt.

Rashida Jones: The actress-screenwriter, who was nominated for Best First Screenplay for Celeste and Jesse Forever, wowed in a silk, kimono-sleeved Stella McCArtney dress and green Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.
