Children's Choir Performs "Silent Night" on Saturday Night Live for Victims of School Shooting
December 16, 2012

Saturday Night Live opened the Dec. 15 show on a serious note.

To pay tribute to the victims of Friday's elementary school shooting in Connecticut, the New York City Children's Chorus sang "Silent Night."

The touching performance came one day after Adam Lanza, 20, shot down 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School Dec. 14 in Newtown, Conn.

After the song, the young singers took over host Martin Short's job of introducing the show by shouting, "Live from New York, it's Saturday Night!"

The choir later returned to the stage to perform "Wonderful Christmas Time" with musical guest Paul McCartney.

Watch the moving performance in the video above.

How did NBC get away from the liberal agenda and not change the words for the PC crowd, let alone sing a Christmas song and upset the atheists?

How beautiful and appropriate. Dispite the horror and ugliness, there is still compassion in people's hearts, hope and love in this world. God bless us, each and everyone.

Very sweet of SNL to do that. I don't know how the choir got through it without falling apart. My family has been crying all weekend.
