The "feud of the century" is over.

After calling in "sick" and bailing on her scheduled TODAY show appearance on Monday, Nov. 12, Chelsea Handler poked fun at hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, much to their displeasure. But on Wednesday, Nov. 14, the Chelsea Lately host, 37, finally made nice -- or nice-ish, at least.

"I have to apologize to the TODAY show because I didn't show up for an interview, and then they saw me on Jimmy Fallon, and they were like, 'What?'" the comedienne said on her show. "And I lied. I've been lying to everyone lately about why I didn't show up. I don't know -- I don't have a good reason."

She then proceeded to (intentionally) mispronounce Kotb's and Gifford's names, saying, "So to Hoda Kota-ba and Kathie Lee Jifford, I'm sorry. I really am sorry. I'm very professional usually but I just couldn't make it."

The TODAY hosts addressed the somewhat backhanded mea culpa on the show Thursday morning, explaining to their viewers what had transpired earlier in the week. (Handler lied about her reasons for not showing up on Monday, telling Jimmy Fallon later that night that she had "walked into a shower door" and then claiming to Page Six that she had been recovering from food poisoning.)

"There's been an update in the ongoing feud of the century between Chelsea Handler and Hoda and I," Gifford, 59, joked before playing the clip of Handler's apology from the night before.

"It's half-hearted but at least she's not lying. Apology accepted," she said afterward, adding that she and her co-host, 48, would "welcome [Handler] back anytime."
