Brad Pitt** will soon be fulfilling another lifelong dream -- and this one has nothing to do with show business.

The engaged actor and father of six, 48, has teamed up with furniture designer Frank Pollaro to create a collection of home furnishings. Pitt will unveil his pieces -- including a dining table, club chairs and a bed -- Nov. 13 through Nov. 15 in New York.

"I've been doodling ideas for buildings and furniture since the early 1990s, when I first discovered [Charles Rennie] Mackintosh and [architect] Frank Lloyd Wright," Pitt tells Architectural Digest. "Actually, I found Wright in college, when looking for a lazy two-point credit to get out of French. It forever changed my life."

The Killing Them Softly actor and his partner regularly get together for meetings that last "anywhere from seven to ten hours," Pollaro says. "We talk about design, about materials, about craftsmanship, about classicism, about modernism. He has a respect for the masters of design."

Pitt says he is "bent on quality to an unhealthy degree," while Pollaro "embodies the same mad spirit of the craftsmen of yore, with their obsessive attention to detail. It just so happens Frank and I speak the same language. And we both have a predilection for far too much wine."

All of the design duo's initial designs will be made in numbered editions or limited production and signed by both Pitt and Pollaro, Architectural Digest reports. Eventually, some pieces may be adapted for mass production. "The same chair we charge $45,000 for might sell for a fraction of that," Pollaro explains.

Pitt -- who proposed to Angelina Jolie**, 37, earlier this year -- isn't 100 percent comfortable being labeled a furniture designer, saying, "Let's not get ahead of ourselves."
