There's a new man in Ashley Tisdale's life.

The High School Musical star, who quietly split with on-and-off boyfriend Scott Speer earlier this year, is dating Annie Automatic musician Christopher French, a source tells Us Weekly.

"She likes those rocker types," the source says of Tisdale, 27. "They have mutual friends and just met through hanging out." The new couple stepped out publicly for the first time Dec. 26 when they visited the Apple Store in L.A.

After splitting with Step Up Revolution director Speer in December 2011, Tisdale briefly dated Boys Like Girls musician Martin Johnson. The romance quickly fizzled and the Scary Movie 5 actress reconciled with Speer, 30, in May 2012.

"Ashley and Scott split for the same reason they did last time," a source tells Us of their hush-hush breakup. "Their relationship just ran its course."

Prior to dating Tisdale, French was linked to Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco. Tisdale dated V Factory singer Jared Murillo from 2008 to 2009.
