Former contestants are bummed that Paula Abdul is leaving American Idol.
"Paula leaving American Idol is like a honeycomb without the honey," season 7's Blake Lewis tells Usmagazine.com in a statement. "She brought a sweetness to the AI that no one can replace. She will be forever our girl."

Season 8 winner Kris Allen posted on Twitter: "We love you. Glad I was able to be a part of your last season on the show. You showed us so much love."
Added top three contestant Danny Gokey: "I'm really sad 2 see Paula Abdul not coming back 2 Idol. She was the judge with the biggest heart! She really will be missed :( The whole thing has many people feeling :(."
Brooke White, who competed on Season 7, wrote: "I honestly didn't think she was going to leave Idol. When I saw her Tweet, I said 'Wow!'Sitting on the edge of that stage, you feel pretty vulnerable out there. And when you're getting chewed up, any sort of relief is nice. Paula was that little ray of hope. She cushioned the blows a little bit. Not everyone at home liked that, but I can speak as someone who did sit at the edge of that stage, and to have someone who was concerned and caring helped."
Season 1 contestant Jim Verraros changed his Facebook status to say: "not having Paula back for the ninth season of Idol is a huge mistake. Paula, I love you and thank you for making me feel worthy. The show will be nothing without you..."
Season 6's Chris Sligh wrote: "I think both Fox and Paula have made a HUGE mistake. Paula needs this. Fox needs Paula. But the show will go on."
Abdul announced on Twitter late last night she was leaving the show with a "sad heart." Season 9 begins filming on Thursday.

Their right, Idol won't be the same w/out paula. She is the heart & soul of Idol. Though I heard that Victoria Beckham was going 2 be a guest on Idol. So that has 2 be good right. I'll miss paula on Idol. Paula is the reason that I got my mom 2 watch Idol.

Idol without paula? Weirdness! Wont be the same, but the show must go on! Theres 2 much undiscovered talent that needs the show 2 help them make their dreams come true!

Take half of Ryan's money and give it to her! He isnt worth that! People dont tune in for him. We like the Paula ~ Simon show. GIVE HER THE MONEY! Good Ole Boys Club still alive and strong by not paying her what shes worth!

This whole thing giving Seacrest and Cowell bazillion dollar contracts while spitting on Paula just makes me sick. The executives at Idol are foolish thinking they can make the show work without Paula, just because they now have Kara. The chemistry between the judges and host, have been the link that made this show work so well these past eight years. Paula was the softy judge that helped young artist find the key to their talent before Simon ate them alive! She would encourage the contestants and reassuringly praise them for what they did right. I have watched this show from the start, never once missing an episode, however I will not watch the show until they bring back Paula, and give her an appoligy and bucket full of money. Idol fans please join me in boycotting this years show until the executives at Idol bring Paula back to the judges table!!

I liked Paula.even though she does act crazy at times.she gives the contestants more of a chance then the other judges.I will miss her sweet crazyness!
